- General
• Reads the logbook daily and take action accordingly.
• Provides information regarding the hotel’s facilities & services.
• Handovers all unfinished work to the following shift.
Marking & sorting
• Sorts all Laundry in accordance with cleaning procedures required for the type of textile and labels them.
• Sorts guest laundry for washing and dry cleaning.
• Rechecks all pockets of guest items and if anything found reports to Team Leader.
• Identifies stain types and determines cleaning methods required.
• Follows procedures for stains and other damage to guest laundry.
• Marks all guest laundry to ensure effective delivery procedure.
Washing/Dry Cleaning
• Loads all machines in accordance with established loading standards.
• Washes/dry cleans following set programs.
• For hand-wash items - sorts out colour fastness or test colour fastness before using cleaning chemical.
• For uniforms and guest laundry - cleans the collar
- sleeve or dirty spots firsts before putting in washing machine.
Pressing
• Uses appropriate pressing machines and presses in accordance with standard procedures.
• Reports to Team Leader any damaged laundry.
• Sort sout guest laundry for setting different temperatures for pressing.
Folding/Valet
• Folds all linen/garments neatly and in accordance with established standards.
• Delivers linen/uniforms to the Housekeeping department.
• Delivers guest Laundry to the room.
- High school or equivalent.
