Team Leader, Housekeeping (Laundry & Linen)
- Ensures all guest requests and complaints are handled appropriately adhering to the hotel’s general guidelines for service recovery.
- Ensures all opening and closing duties are implemented in accordance with established standards.
- Conducts daily shift briefings.
- Follows up on work and maintains logbook.
- Knows and strictly follows all established cleaning procedures.
- Prepares Room/Public Area crew work assignment sheet.
- Reports Monthly Chemical consumption - Monthly Guest Supplies and Amenities usage.
- Knows how to operate/use available Housekeeping machinery’s and chemicals according to established standards.
- Conducts Quality Room/Public Areas Inspections.
- Maintains proper par stock of inventory items.
- Reports all maintenance deficiencies immediately.
Rooms
- Coordinates with Front Desk concerning room status and others.
- Ensure the following procedures are implemented according to standards:
Key Procedure - DND (Do Not Disturb)/Double Locked
- Baby Sitting
- Room Discrepancy
- Lost & Found
- Room Safety Deposit Box
- Loan Item
- Loss & Breakage
- Pest Control
- Defect Item
- Updates room status into Opera/Micros system. (Hotel’s PMS).
- Conducts Linen Inventory in pantry.
- Responds to special requests from guests such as extra bed - baby cot
- iron etc.
- Assists where necessary with the making up of rooms and turndown service.
- Coordinates pantry and trolley set-up.
Linen & Uniforms
- Knows and strictly follows the step-by-step procedure of wardrobe and linen exchange.
- Conducts Linen and Uniform Inventory.
- Checks the condition of all Uniforms and Linen. Repair/discard any damaged Uniforms and Linen.
- Ensures the stock for Uniforms and Linen is adequate.
- Ensures regular maintenance of the sewing machine.
Laundry
- Maintains proper par stock of inventory items.
- Knows and controls all chemicals.
- Closely monitors laundry cost per load or kg/cost per cover of room/person.
- Knows and controls all machinery.
- Knows and follows Linen/Uniforms cleaning procedures.
- Ensures policies & procedures are implemented regarding guest laundry charges and delivery.
- Ensures an adequate supply of detergent and other materials required for laundry purposes including stain removers - etc. by preparing requisitions for supplies.
- Ensures efficient provision of dry cleaning and laundry services by overseeing the whole process and controlling quality of services provided.
- Reports monthly on revenue and expenses for laundry and dry cleaning.
- Coordinates machinery preventive maintenance program - reports and follows up on maintenance requests.
- Ensures small repair and mending jobs are done automatically.
- Processes charges for guest Laundry & Dry Cleaning and coordinates valet.
- Min diploma in hospitality or equivalent.
- Practical experience as a departmental trainer in housekeeping.
- Must be proficient with reservations handling and process and familiar with Opera/Micros system.
- Excellent command of English language - knowledge of other languages is a plus.
